Text: Differential diagnosis of acute or recent infection from past infection with human parvovirus associated with erythema infectiosum (fifth disease), aplastic crisis, & fetal infection. IgM antibodies are detectable 2 weeks after exposure and provide definite evidence of recent infection. IgG production usually occurs 18- 24 days after exposure.
