Text: Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, is a metabolite of amitriptyline & is used to treat endogenous depression. May be associated with cholestasis & cholestatic jaundice. Hematological consequences: agranulocytosis, purpura, & thrombocytopenia. Other side effects: GI, endocrinologic, allergic, anticholinergic, cardiovascular, & neurologic disorders.
