Text: Two groups of hantaviruses are recognized based on clinical presentation. The 1st includes Sin Nombre Virus, which causes hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a severe & sometimes fatal form of acute respiratory distress. A 2nd group, including Seoul, Hantaan, Dobrava &Puumala causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, a condition not typically seen in the US
