Text: This assay can detect the e1a2 (minor breakpoint) BCR-ABL1 fusion transcript resulting in a p190 BCR-ABL protein. This form of BCR-ABL1 fusion is found in approximately 80% of childhood and 50% of adult Ph-positive B-ALL. It is infrequently observed in CML, but may confer inferior response to tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
