Ed Harned, President & CEO of AMS Laboratories, is a 40 year veteran of the laboratory industry. Ed’s career in the Clinical Reference laboratory business, spans nearly 35 years, from his early entry into the business as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for STATLABS in 1969 until his founding of AMS in 1983. As a nationally known innovator in the Laboratory business he continues to guide the successful activities of AMS, not only in Sales and Marketing, but also in the areas of Compliance, Client Connectivity, and Customer Service. Ed is always available to speak with clients and others interested in the laboratory business.

Margo McDonald is the Vice President of Operations for AMS. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 27 years. Her experience includes work as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Instructor, and Laboratory Manager. Margo has been with AMS for 16 years. She attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.

As the Manager of Business Services at AMS, Janet Kaufman oversees the human resources, billing, and accounts receivable functions. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Her work experience includes positions in sales and marketing, human resources, and accounts receivable management. Janet has been with AMS for 14 years. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, and an MBA from Wichita State University.

Bill Combs is the Lab Manager over Technical Services at AMS. He has a bachelor of science degree in Medical Technology from Wichita State University. He is ASCP certified as a Medical Technologist and a Chemistry Specialist. Bill has 30 years of experience in the clinical laboratory in Chemistry, Immunology, Toxicology, and Management.

Doug Renard is the General Sales Manager. He is the new person on the management team, being with AMS since July, 2002. A native of Wichita, he has worked in Health Care since 1976 as a Lab Tech, Lab Sales, and Lab Management. He holds an A.S. from Barton County Community College and a B.S. from Fort Hays State University.

Cathy Goodwin is the Laboratory Manager over Support Services and has been in the laboratory business for 23 years. Her work experience includes positions in sales and marketing and management. She currently manages the areas of Customer Service, Order-Entry, Specimen Processing, Courier/Routes, and all Patient Service Centers. Cathy has been with AMS for 20 years.
