AMS GOES LIVE ON NEW LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM

e-Reference Lab SolutionsAMS Laboratory working with SCC Soft computer has installed the new integrated suite of multi-site products. SCC Soft was the vendor of choice because it’s broad functionality simplifies even the most complex operating environments like AMS, where speed, accuracy and cost are all important considerations. The fully integrated Softlab© system provides a seamless interface that links all clinical laboratory departments throughout the enterprise. Tremendous flexibility is provided by the system to allow the distribution of data and results to the entire spectrum of AMS clients.

SoftWeb – The e-Reference Lab Solution.

A cost-effective solution for physician’s offices, this web-based application allows integrated real-time results reporting as well as computerized physician order entry remotely or in-house via the Internet. The SoftWeb application, through its interface, supports laboratory, microbiology, blood bank, pathology, radiology, pharmacy and reference lab results from multiple and disparate vendors, all of which reside on a single EMR repository.

The SoftWeb™ application, through its interface, provides practical, robust solutions for physician office staff and physicians that are fast, convenient and easy to learn. Effectively managing processing and billing in the lab, SoftWeb is specifically designed for use in the reference lab market. Features include:

  • User-defined custom settings for the retrieval of information by patient criteria, test types, locations, and other criteria, saving time and displaying only relevant information
  • Color-coded abnormal and panic result flags to alert the physician in real-time to critical information that enhances patient safety
  • A simple yet powerful Windows environment ensuring familiar working environments
  • Trend views of clinical results in both graphic and text formats to facilitate trend analysis, correlations, and diagnosis
  • Web-enabled interface allows quick access from hospital, home, or physician office using secured access via the Internet.
  • Summary reports with ability to simultaneously view results from multiple departments
  • Labels and reports can easily be printed in the physician’s office, eliminating requisition slips and custom reporting
  • Reports can be printed or emailed at the click of a button

SoftWeb is a fast and convenient decision support system. Physician specific viewing of lab results via the Interface allows filtering, summary, detail and trend reporting that ultimately simplifies interpretation and ensures prompt response to critical results. Powerful graphing and trend analysis correlations and trend analysis tools are also provided. For example, test lists and graphic charts can be displayed together to identify correlations and trends from selected criteria. Information filters are used to quickly organize patients and patient data to selected criteria. This provides the powerful information tools to help data analysis. SoftWeb has a customizable design to suit user preferences.

For the laboratory, apart from providing better overall information management to the physician’s office, a substantial overall reduction in incoming calls should be noticed as physicians become accustomed to the convenience and reliability of online results viewing. The SoftWeb application is especially user friendly to learn with the Microsoft® Windows standard Graphical User Interface (GUI). Explore the potential of new AMS e-Reference Lab Solutions powered by SCC SoftWeb.
